Preparation of the Anambas Islands Regency Regional Poverty Reduction Plan for 2025-2029
Poverty remains a serious problem in many countries around the world. Although many efforts have been made by governments and international organizations to reduce poverty, the number of people living in poverty remains high. Poverty alleviation programs are very important because poverty not only threatens the welfare and lives of individuals, but also has a negative impact on society as a whole.

Program monitoring and evaluation are necessary to track program progress and identify obstacles or challenges that arise during program implementation, so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken. Reporting is done to inform the public and other stakeholders about the progress and results of the program. Planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting documents are important to ensure accountability and transparency in the implementation of poverty reduction programs and to provide optimal benefits to the communities in need. If these documents are not available, it can lead to ineffective and inefficient programs.
The Anambas Islands Regency Regional Poverty Reduction Plan (RPKD) for 2025-2029 serves as a guideline for the Anambas Islands Regency Government to reduce poverty in the medium term. This RPKD is a more detailed elaboration of the development goals outlined in the Anambas Islands Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RJPMD) for 2025-2029. Poverty is not merely a number, especially when measured by the minimum standard of individual consumption expenditure, but is a development issue related to individual conditions that reflect the quality and access of individuals in basic social, economic, and infrastructure aspects. Therefore, poverty reduction efforts require cross-sectoral commitment and participation within the local government, as well as active participation from the community, business entities, and other non-governmental groups. Poverty alleviation is thus a structured, cross-cutting joint effort.

Poverty is one of the important outcome indicators of development, meaning that its achievement is the result of interventions in various aspects, the effects of which can only be felt within a certain period of time. Therefore, poverty alleviation efforts cannot be carried out in the short term. The efforts made, in addition to being cross-cutting, require consistency from one period to another. Poverty alleviation efforts are not merely about providing assistance, but should be efforts that enable the population to become an important resource for development and efforts to prevent the population from falling below the poverty line.
The 2025-2029 Anambas Islands Regency RPKD was created based on the above principles, namely a commitment and joint efforts that are cross-sectoral and carried out consistently. Initially, poverty alleviation efforts require certain financial resources. However, if this issue can be properly addressed, with a large population that is a productive resource, the development of the Anambas Islands Regency will become increasingly high-quality, resilient, and sustainable. Therefore, poverty can no longer be viewed as a residual problem, but rather as an integral part of realizing the medium- and long-term development goals of the Anambas Islands Regency. This document is expected to serve as a solid guide in determining priorities in terms of aspects, sectors, and locations so that it can oversee the achievement of the medium- and long-term development agenda and goals of the Anambas Islands Regency that have been set.
